A cache alongside Scaffold Lane a roman road close to the village of Collingham. The path is a public bridleway suitable for bikes and all terrrain buggies in the summer but can be muddy during the winter months.
Suggested parking on the grass verge at N53 08.223 W000 45.215. it is advised that you approach the parking area from the south to avoid the manually operated level crossing on Westbrook Lane.
The cache is in a green ammo box which originally contained an unopened pay as you go sim card, a camera battery, shampoo, fabric conditioner, bath salts, an oxfam 'bring bring' envelope, an eraser, a Roald Dahl book 'The Magic Finger' and a book of logic puzzles.
The geocache can be made into a circular walk of around 3 miles by continuing to the bridleway running alongside the A46. Head south for around 250m and then onto South Scaffold lane, down the hill and turn right to return to the parking area.
On a clear day there are good views across the Trent valley from the top of the hill.
