This is the second of my Peak District National Park mermaid geocaches.
Doxey Pool is very small but is said to be bottomless and have curative powers. It is the home of the seductive mermaid Jenny Greenteeth who lures travellers to a watery grave.
The cache is located about 70 metres SE of the Pool. It can be most easily reached from the parking bays on the road from Upper Hulme. From here take the bridleway up past Rock Cottage and up the stone steps. At the top of the steps turn left and continue along the path, climbing up to the ridge after the path turns right. Doxey Pool is a short distance along the ridge.
The weather here can change rapidly and even on a day which starts clear the mist can descend very quickly. A cold wind blows even in summer. Wear warm clothing and strong footwear.
