Geocache Description:

Cache is located near the Village of Van Hornesville. Nice easy stroll to the cache.

This cache ( 13 X 9 plastic box)is hidden on the grounds of a New York Fish Hatchery with the permission of Manager Larry Kroon. This hatchery, which has been in operation since 1935, is home to 150,000 Rainbow Trout that will eventually be stocked in New York’s streams. The water supply is from two natural springs with a combined flow of 300 gallons per Minute at a constant temperature of 47degrees.
Visitors are welcome from 8:30am to 3:30 pm 7 days a week. View the many fishponds and be sure to see the trophy pond. Enjoy a nice easy stroll around the grounds. Workers would be glad to answer questions except for the cache location. Bring the kids. Bring a picnic in the summer time. Park near the building but don’t block the road. Items in cache include Logbook, Slinky, seashells, mini car, game & beads. Enjoy the hunt but NO FISHING.
