2006 Spring Picnic Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Team Shydog: I would like to thank everyone for coming out and enjoying the spring picnic. We had a great time putting it on this year. The weather was awsome, the amount of food was incrediable and the donations for the give aways was fantastic.

The whole staff at the Salomonie River Forest deserve a huge round of applause for their help and support. I want to say a special thank you to our DNR contact person Jason Wade. His understanding of the sport made it all that much easier to put this show on.

Some stats for the day are....
171 persons attended
4 states represented
2 countries(Thanks for being Canadian Wolf)
300+ hotdogs eaten
45+ geocoins given away
1 very acurate Magellan (Way to go Che K)
1 very lucky gps winner (You are not allowed to buy tickets at the fall picnic BadMagic)

I have had the honor of hosting or co-hosting the last two spring picnics. Thanks to Mary and Gary Adventurers and Happy Hikers I get to come and enjoy the picnic next year and not be stressed out during the month of April. They have stepped up to host the 2007 Spring Picnic. Look for details to follow sometime later(It is only June you know)
Please give them the support that you have given me the last two years. These events are not getting any smaller and every little bit helps.

There are still some TB's and geocoins listed as being in the event. The geocoins do not bother me, the TB's do. There were no TB's left for me to take home so that means they all went home with someone. Please check your backpacks again and ask the people you went with if they picked one up with out logging it. I know I hate to have a TB come up missing. I will be marking the bugs as missing in the near future.

Thanks again and see you all at an event or on the trails.

ps. The Fall picnic is posted and don't forget about the Midwest Geobash in July.

The robins will be singing, the flowers will be starting to come out and the Indiana Geocachers will be roaming the woods at the Salamonie River State Forest.

It is time again to get out of that winter funk and find some caches with a great group of cachers. Team Shydog is sponsoring the Spring picnic again this year and we would like to invite everyone to come join us. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a day full of food, games and cache finding. If you have been at this since the beginning of the sport/hobby or this is the beginning for you, come on out and meet those people you have seen log your caches or have logged their caches.

Team Shydog will be providing the Hotdogs, condiments and utensils. If you come please bring a dish to share with others. Bring your folding chair and if you like a prize for the prize table (just think small geo type gift). I will be posting a update to this page in the near future when the timetable get firmed up. Please let me know when you log your “Will Attend” note how many will be coming so that we can get enough dogs. Thanks for your interest and we will see you in May.
