Geocache Description:

Hiking trail is some uphill and downhill and could be quite muddy.

This cache is located off the North Shore bike trail near a hiking trail (North Country Trail-blue blazed). The NCT will take you across a wooden bridge, up some wooden steps to some really nice views of the lake. You can also take the NCT from the parking lot. Either way you'll get to see the beaver dam. Cache is in a large painted black pretzel container hidden fairly well. Please keep it hidden well from geomuggles (fisherman). Look for the trees the beavers chewed and you're real close. So bike it, hike it and even canoe it but hope you like it!! Bailey the geodog helped hide this one as well as find many other caches with me. She died Thursday 3/16/06. This was the last cache she was at. This one is dedicated to her. Her picture is in with the log book. She also left a ball for the next geopup. Great area for labs to play in the water. IMPORTANT UPDATE: From Moraine State Park's website: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/moraine.aspx the bike trail is closed for the summer. Please only hike it or canoe it to this cache. Please do NOT bike it until the paved bike trail is open. Here's the official notice from Moraine's website: Park Advisories 3/29/2007 1:25:00 PM The Bike Trail on the North Shore has been officially closed until completion of the construction contract, September 21, 2007. The unpaved section of the bike trail, between the Bike Rental Building, heading west towards I-79, is open. This portion of the bike trail is approximately 1 and 1/4 miles in length. The Bicycle Rental concession will be open and servicing Park clientele. **UPDATE** 9/5/07 just received email notification from Butler Outdoor Club that the bike trail is open!!!
