Geocache Description:

This cache is named for Roger Tory Petersen, author of the "Petersen Field Guides."

This area is one of the top bird watching sites in the Atlanta area, particularly for migratory and aquatic birds. You may wish to bring field glasses and Petersen's "Field Guide to the Birds" to fully enjoy this amazing place.

As for the cache, it is a log only, placed in an olive drab match container. This area is open to the public, but is fenced with a gate that automatically closes at different times throughout the year. The sign at the gate will tell you the time it closes on the day you are there.

While driving in the area please keep your vehicle on the road, and DO NOT drive off the road to get closer to any of our caches. Drive carefully: The car you keep dry may be your own.

The cache has been placed with the permission of the Clayton County Water Authority.

Congratulations to the Booters for the FTF!
