This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

Placed in the Northwiew Cemetery in Winters, TX. An easy park and grab cache. I Have put another cache out. This will be the 4th one at this site. The other were muggled.

This cache is located in the Northview Cemetery of Winters, TX In the fall of 1892, Northview Cemetery was established just northewest of Winters, TX. The townspeople of Winters realized a need for a cemetery near town. At the time the closest one was at Ballinger, Tx, some 15 miles away. The townspeople held a meeting and voted to buy 4 acres of land from Fredrick Armbrecht. This land was just north of town on the Abilene to Ballinger highway (hwy 83). Within a month the first person was buried there. An infant that had died from a fever. After over 100 years of service to Winters, town has grown up around the cemetery, and other cemeteries have been started, but Northview is still being used for the purpose it was created for.
