Geocache Description:

*2009 REWORK* A Little Harder and a Little More Room for Error!
Cottage Hill Park. On Nature Paths

*2011 REWORK* Removed the micro at waypoint no. 2, It is just a turning point.

Long before Cottage Hill Park (now Medal of Honor Park) was developed, this path was known to many local joggers as Grant's Crossing, named after a local Engineer who made his mark on this area as well as the memories of coworkers. This path traversed the area prior to the current refined structures seen today.

Preferred parking at N 30 39.347 W 088 11.010 will place you at the beginning of a well traveled concrete path. Take this path heading generally WSW to waypoint no. 1 at N 30 39.221 W 088 11.185 This leg will take you to the point where you leave the developed path. Waypoint no. 2 at N 30 39.166 W 088 11.209 is just a short distance. This is where the only remaining micro WAS located. It proved impossible to keep a micro there, so I'll just tell you to turn right at this point. Follow the path to the right just a short distance to the next waypoint (no. 3) Waypoint no. 3 is easy to identify as it is the theme of this cache. At waypoint no. 3, no coordinates or micro will be found here! This is part of the 2009 rework. After numerious mugglings, this has been radically reworked. Yes, Grant himself built the first structure here although now it has been replaced by an improved structure by the city. I think you will know when you've reached this waypoint. (no. 3) At This point you will be required to make a projection to the final waypoint (waypoint no. 4) This projection will be 235 feet @ a bearing of 329 degrees true. Bring your GPS operator manual or brush up on projections first!

Stage 1 is a given to get you away from mugglers fast. Stage 2 is a turning point. Stage 3 is just a place to stop and start (a point of beginning for the last projection) . Stage 4 is a 30 cal. ammo. If your GPS has limited support for projection, a magnetic compass will work fine for this cache.
