Geocache Description:

The cache is in the grounds of a community radio station in a Balinese village. The radio station provides a range of health, social and income-generation activities. Villagers are employed in the radio station fulltime or part-time volunteers. It is a good geocache if you want to see inside a traditional Balinese village in safety. You'll need to drive or hire a taxi to get there. Staff might not be onsite on Saturdays or Sundays. Geocachers are not asked to donate money.

This geocache is located in a traditional Balinese village, about 40 minutes drive north-east of Denpasar along the eastern coast. The cache is inside a community radio station in the village of Tulikup. The radio station conducts a range of interesting community level health and income-generation projects. The cache is in an admin office. Staff will have a key. We have to tell you the location because the cute kids kept moving the "hidden" cache! Ask one of the staff to show you around the radio station (you might even be interviewed live onair!). Note: The radio station may not have English-staff in attendance on Saturdays and Sundays. A photo of you in the compound will count as a "find". Ask for Lindo (Community Development supervisor), Adhi or Pak Rai. You will not be solicited for money or donations and you should not offer a donation. It is okay to stroll nearby village lanes and take photos (but no closeups of people). Help the village economy and buy drinking water, a soft drink or coffee in nearby warungs (street side shops). Best time to see the village market is 6:00-9:00 AM where you could buy fruit. To get there: Drive to the bypass NGURAH RAI and head east toward Sanur. Get onto the coastal highway known as “Prof Dr Idu Bagur Mantrah”. Follow the signposts on this road for about 16 kms. Turn left at the sign that points to Tulikup. The distance from here to the radio station is 4 kms. Keep to the main roads. Placed with permission from Groundspeak, Inc.
