Geocache Description:

An easy walk but unfortunately unsuitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Some parts can be muddy at times. We placed this cache walking from Newington (which is where we have suggested parking) to Etchinghill, although this cache can be approached from the Etchinghill direction for a shorter walk.

The Elham Valley Way runs from Hythe to Canterbury following the courses of the Seabrook Stream and River Nailbourne. This walk explores a small part of it.

If approaching from the Newington direction, after passing through the second gate look for and cross the stile on the left and follow the footpath to the right. Continue on this path to the cache site. Please be aware that at times sheep are grazing along part of this route.

Nearby to the suggested parking is the Elham Valley Rail Museum, which is open Saturday and Sunday 10.00am to 5.00pm, April – August.

This is our first attempt at placing a cache, we hope we have got it right and we hope you enjoy it.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE FOOTPATH WHEN APPROACHING THIS CACHE. THE WOODS AND AREAS SURROUNDING THE FOOTPATH ARE PRIVATE LAND, AND SHOOTING TAKES PLACE IN THIS AREA.
