South Rim Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

Cache is a military decon box containing a log, a pen, and small trading items. Please be sure to get all 4 corners of the lid snapped tightly closed and make sure the strap isn't caught under the lid.

After the first leg of the hike the trail is no longer a nice level path and eventually it splits into an upper and a lower trail. The lower trail splits again shortly after that. Each of these trails will get you to the cache. The terrain of the trail and the scenery differs depending on which way you go. If you find yourself on the segment of trail that skirts the edge of the canyon above the creek then please be careful. Don't walk along with your eyes glued to the arrow on the screen - it's a long way down and the trail can be slick in spots if it's wet. Depending on which trail you take parts of it can be steep and the bare rock parts can be slick if wet. If you have a hiking stick take it along. There is plenty of poison oak in this area of the park but it shouldn't be an issue with the cache since it isn't on the trail and isn't around the cache.
