The compound in the middle of the links was originally a peripheral
building for the nearby airfield during WW2. In more recent times
it became a satellite communications post, used by the US military
based at RAF Edzell. It was used until the US left Edzell in the
mid 1990's.
You can see where the communication masts were protected by
fences. Dont know why some of it is still there though?
The route round these caches is not considered to be buggy
friendly due to stiles etc but would be possible with a strong
buggy and a child who doesnt mind bumps!
All these caches are in popular dog walking areas so beware of
muggles!
