Geocache Description:

Cache is a larger container with traders and loggers

First off, mind the muggles... head down the rocks once you have the cache.

Time for a story... I was out hiding with Otterslidedog today to add to NB's cache hiding totals for the NB/NS Hiding event, and I headed down the rocks in this area to the pier under the bridge to find a spot to hide the cache. After watching the ice flow (which was quite cool), we decided anything close to the pier would eventually be underwater. So we headed back to the other side of the pier and I once again eyed the large tree which was perched up against the pier and appeared to be quite well stuck into to rocks. Then, the evil gears in my head took over and decided to place a cache on the top of the cement pier... to get up there I would need to scale this solid tree. Well, long story short, I get about 3/4 of the way up the tree, and the tree decided to start sliding to the side. As I fell and swore profusly then way down, I managed to re-adjust my body to try and land safely. One foot landed ok, the other landed ok as well, but the momentum of my body twisted my foot 90 degrees to the left and snapped it back.

After the initial pain, the adrenaline from the fall allowed me to make it up the rocks to the road area, and yes, to find a final placement spot for the cache.

So my cache hiding day was pretty well at an end, and as a result I figured I would not be able to hide anymore caches for NB for the NB/NS Event this year. I tried my best guys! However on a side note, I still hobbled out an additional cache, and OSD aided in the placement of 3 others after the incident. Best comment by OSD after the fact which I shall not forget? "Don't feel bad, I though climbing the log was a good idea at the time too..."

Final Chapter: After 7 hours in hospital x-rays and so forth, the doctors cheerfully called my injury "A Massive Soft Tissue Injury in the right ankle area" - And "Don't walk on it for the next week or so"... fun.. so much for the FTF party after the event.. ahh well..
