Geocache Description:

Election and Changing of the Guard
Sunday January 14, 2007 2:00 PM

This is a “VERY” special occasion; it’s the Fifth Year Anniversary of the founding meetingof our club at this same shelter. Come rain, come shine or come bone-chilling COLD (the original was in about 35 degree freezing rain) this important event will be held.

We would love for as many of the original charter members to be there as possible, and we welcome newcomers as well. There is no need to be a member of the MTGC to attend one of our events, so whether you have found thousands of caches or you just got a gps for Christmas and want to check out the sport, come on out and join us.

As important as it is for us to mark the 5th Anniversary of the founding of the club, we also have a very important duty to perform. It is time to nominate and elect our officers for 2007 and this cannot be taken lightly. The officers of the club work with the authorities to promote and extend Geocaching in Tennessee, in addition to organizing club events, CITO opportunities and other club activities, like getting T-shirts printed and speaking to groups about Geocaching. You need to attend this more than any other meeting to show your support for those working the hardest to help this game we all love move forward in Tennessee. We will present a slate of candidates at the meeting and will also take nominations from the floor. We will be voting for; President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.

There is a fireplace in the shelter, so we can build a fire if it gets a little chilly, and the great companionship and fellowship with other cachers should be enough to keep you warm and fuzzy, as long as it doesn't get too cold.

So come on out and show your support for Geocaching in Middle Tennessee, I look forward to seeing you there.
