In 1916, the Puget Sound Mosquito Fleet began making a stop here. But here is not where you will find the cache, just a sign with the clues you need for the final waypoint.
Legend has it that a car is sitting on the bottom of the bay where the ferry used to dock. That would never have happened without work being done to accommodate it. Discover what year that work was done for the first half of the clue. Deduct the age of car's 78 year old owner from the last 3 digits and use that number to fill in the following:
N 47 44.XXX
Nowadays, the Virginia V is the last of the Mosquito Fleet still in operation but only as a tour boat. If it serviced this port, determine what year it could have made its last stop for the other half of the clue. Using the last 3 digits of this number, deduct the number of crossings if it made only 759 and use that number to fill in the following:
W 122 32.XXX
While not difficult to locate, this community is certainly off the beaten path, and for good reason. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer beach (and tide flats) in all of Puget Sound. You will undoubtedly enjoy your visit, especially if it's warm and sunny. Be sure to pick up something to eat and drink as well as a souvenir at the country store.
Please note that the beaches between the listed coordinates and the final are private. Please stay on the roads, do not walk to the final on the beaches. The drive to the final is public, the beaches on either side are not. There is no reason to go on the beaches.
