Geocache Description:

I am leaving the size and container info on this cache as a mystery so it will be more of a challenge.

This cache is located at the Fogleman cemetary. It was set aside when the Fogleman plantation was sold in an estate sale in the mid 1800s. One acre was kept as a burrial site. This area is on the Northup Trail which was set up to give a tour of the places that Solomon Northup lived while a slave in this area. His life was made famous in his book 12 Years A Slave which tells of his kidnappng while a free man in the north and then being sold into slavery near here. He was able to get a note out to his family after 12 years and was quickly liberated to freedom. My parents and I along with many other local people worked to chronicle this story and preserve the Epps house which belonged to one of Solomon's owners. It now sits at LSUA and with futurefunding will become a museum. Good luck with the cache, and always cache safely.
