Geocache Description:

Close to popular viewpoint on crags above town. Steep paths in places, well marked trail. Elevation gain up to 900' depending on start point, but at least 300' anyway. May have some boggy parts, slippy areas in the wet on rocks.

*apologies for lack of maintenance, I no longer live in the are.

This is the second in an eventual series of 4 caches around the Perthshire town of Callander.

Tuath lies very close to a popular viewpoint at the top of the crags behind the town.

Various parking spots available, from the main ones in town to the parking lot at Bracklinn Falls. You choose. Park in town and do the full circular walk, longer, but quite pleasant - 900 foot of elevation gain this way.

Currently there are forestry operations going on below the crags, so you may want to avoid that area.

Perhaps the most obvious option is to drive up to Bracklinn Falls parking lot (signposted at the east of the main street in town).
To get there, you will pass Arden House, scene of the original "Dr.Findlay" TV show, after the Falls parking area continue up the road, passing the "Red Well" (an old mineral spring, mmm, tasty !!) and one of those old Nuclear Bunkers as well, which is at the high point of the asphalt road.
You lose a bit of height, after the bunker, but that's ok, 'cos you soon make it back up again... at a sharp right hander in the road you head off up a worn path on the left, which takes you along the crest of the crags. Cache is pretty close to the summit area, but NOT located in any drystane dykes.

Cache is a screwtop plastic bottle, so any swaps should be less than 2 inches to fit through the neck.

Great views from the top of the crag, which is part of the Highland Boundary Fault. To the north are 2 munros, Ben Vorlich and Stuc A Chroin, Ben Ledi dominates the western view above the Pass of Leny, and you can look right up Loch Venachar towards Ben Venue etc. to the east on a good day is Stirling with its' castle and the nearby Wallace Monument.

Careful going down, as the local "puddingstone" rocks are really slippy in the wet where they have been worn smooth.
