On Route 1 between Yarmouth and Port Maitland, are two small communities of Darling’s Lake and Wellington. This small cache is close to an old fishing hole, and is quite family friendly.
This is a simple, easy location to find, out of sight, off “the old road” sometimes referred to locally as lovers lane. The cache is located near where an old sawmill (Pierce’s Sawmill) once stood on a quiet little stream connecting Sunday Lake and Butler’s Lake.
If you choose to leave anything, please consider “small items”. The original container contains a variety of trading pins, a couple of fishing flies, garbage bag, a small log book and pencils.
… and if you are a little nostalgic, by a combined effort, you might like to contribute, line by line, to the lyrics of the 1910 Tell Taylor oldie, on the first page of the log book. If you really need any help, there is a great website www.rienzihills.com/SING/O/oldmillstream.
