Set in the quiet village of Binstead only four miles from Alton and the final resting place for one of this countries finest.
The above coordinates are for the car park of the Cedars Pub, this is by far the safest place to park. I have spoken to the manager and staff and they are more than happy for us to use the car park. The pub its self is well worth a visit as it has an open fire and a fine selection of fine ales. From the car park turn left up the road then left again at the footpath sign. There are no stiles to cross on this walk and it was not too muddy on the day we placed it so those of you with buggies should be o.k. This is an off set multi cache and will involve solving a few easy clues it will also explain why the cache is named. The church is 12th Century and is probably the oldest building in the village but was largely restored in the mid 1800s. There are a great deal of footpaths in this area and if you wanted, you can continue after you have found the cache and loop back to the car. There are a couple of lakes just past the cache site where Headley managed to have a nice swim. The fact that the air temperature was -1 didn't seem to put him off. I hope you enjoy the cache and learn something new i know we did. The cache should take about 30 mins and is hidden just off a footpath.
At your first waypoint N51 09 747 W000 53 892 you are looking for the date on the down pipe these will give you your first set of numbers A B C D
At you second waypoint N51 09 744 W000 54 002 you will find a grave. The year he was born will give you E F G H the year of his death I J K L. Now onto the cache.
The cache can be found at N51 09 HAE W000 54 DG(I+L-K) Good luck
