This in an interesting spot on the far side of Big Indian Lake. A
large clearing that was old farmland long ago. If you are so
inclined to explore this area you will find some interesting
features. You shall find a rock wall marking the perimeter of the
cleared field. Two foundation ruins, one presumably of the
homestead with the chimney crumbled and lying beside it and the
other perhaps from a barn or shed. Also a HUGE megalith boulder
sits on the edge of this field.
The other interesting factor for this location, as the name
eludes, it is also a LZ or Landing Zone. This old field in the
middle of nowhere is often used by the Seaking helicopter pilots to
train for "Confined Area Landings". Should you be so fortunate to
do this cache while they are training you may see the sleek gray
hound of death touching down and taking off again.
WARNING: IF THEY ARE PRACTICING THEIR LANDINGS DO NOT ENTER
THE FIELD. THE DOWN WASH FROM THE AIRCRAFT CAN CAUSE DEBRIS TO FLY
AROUND AND CAUSE INJURY. AS WELL SOMEONE SUDDENLY ENTERING THE
FIELD COULD DISTRACT THE PILOT FROM CONCENTRATING ON A VERY
DIFFICULT MANOVER. Please wait until they have departed before
going for the cache find.
I have provided a list of WPs to assist you on your journey. The
Track Points will guide you along the maze of trails to the cache.
The "Answer Question" WPs are actually points of interest around
the cache site.
