Clara's Craig-y-Nos Caper Multi-Cache

This cache is close to the National Showcaves Centre for Wales and Craig-y-nos Castle in the Upper Swansea Valley. It is best approached via Craig-y-nos Country Park. There are two stages. The first is a micro cache located at the coordinates above. You will need to visit the first cache to find the location of the second Regular Cache.

There is convenient parking at Craig-y-nos Country Park with toilets and visitor centre. There is also parking in a nearby layby where an alternative path leads into the country park. The 3.5 terrain rating is mainly due to the location of the Regular cache.

The country park was at one time part of the landscaped gardens of Craig-y-Nos Castle the stately home of the world renowned operatic soprano Adelina Patti. Two rivers flow through the country park. The smaller Llynfell that emerges from the nearby Dan yr Ogof and the Tawe flowing onwards from its source higher up in the mountains.

The first cache is a micro T9J101. This contains a secondary clue to help you with the coordinates of the Regular cache.

Tree cover in the area may affect GPS in the summer. The first hint below may help. The walk to the regular cache can get muddy in places. The cache is away from the path and is more difficult to reach. Take care on the steep ground near the Regular cache site.
