Geocache Description:

A Tiny Itchen (to get back to that pub!)

Placed originally as the "bonus cache" for the 2006 Late Xmas Cache Bash, the feeling was that the location was quite suitable for a permanent cache... so here it is. Adjacent to the river, where the A33/A34 crosses via 2 bridges... if you're lucky, you'll see the swans. This is the "Three Castles Path" that follows the southern side of the River Itchen from the Abbots Worthy area down to WInchester. SAFETY WARNING: you are right next to the river, so please take care. The cache is NOT in a difficult or dangerous place, but children and short people may have a bit more trouble finding it than adults of a more "normal" height. (I'm 5ft 4ins, and I have no problems!). The main cache placed for the cache bash was "Even More Itchen...." (GCT9WH), so you may want to do this at the same time, given their close proximity. Not to forget "Itchen to get back to the Pub" (GCMJYQ) which was placed for the 2005 meeting, and is also not far away! (If doing all 3, start with GCMJYQ first...) ANOTHER SAFETY WARNING: Whilst it may appear that this location is easily accessible from the adjacent main road, please note that that is a very dangerous way to get here... the A34 is a VERY busy road..... the cache is planned to be found from the public footpath. The cache contains a miniature "stash sheet", a tiny log book and a pencil.... no room for anything other than miniature swaps. Please make sure the log book remains in its plastic bag, as the cache is not sealed. (The log book from it being the "bonus cache" is also in there)
