hidegoseek: After two decades, it’s time to archive this unique cache. We’ll never know what truly happened to the ammo can, and it’s disheartening to consider any potential explanations.
Its history is intriguing. Initially, it was placed on a rack that was rolled outside each morning with other ammo cans of various sizes. (Hence the name.) When the casters on the rack broke, the ammo cans were permanently relocated to the store’s interior and periodically moved to different areas.
I previously mentioned the woman who once emptied the contents and, as she exited the store, declared, “I’ll bring these back.” (She lied.) Then there was the cacher who made this their first (and only) find, only to write that the ivy “was a factor.” Hmm. Ivy. Okay. 😜
I want to express my gratitude to the 121 cachers who awarded a favorite point and to the reviewer who once included this cache on his top ten cache list. Those were the good old days.
