I stumbled across this pocket-sized park after checking on my now-archived cache, Off The Leash. It may not have picnic tables or other facilities but don't let that deter you. In summer, you can stroll a shady walkway along the irrigation canal or sit on the grass and eat lunch. (Happily, the nearby bakery with its delectable artisan-style bread has re-opened!) In winter you can at least read the historic marker to learn about a significant first in Utah history.
Built in the late 1800s, the neighboring electric power plant was one of the first direct current plants in Utah (if not the first). It was later to become the first municipally owned electric power plant in the state. The Logan City Light and Power Company still produces and supplies hydroelectric and other power to Logan City residences today.
