Geocache Description:

Rooted - Victoria

by
HawMorFords

The Rooted Series is a series of geocaches dedicated to a few very special trees in and around Brisbane.

Each tree in the series is a lonely but spectacular specimen that dominates it's surroundings and in most cases, is a direct result of considerable conservation efforts.

As these caches are often in very public areas, please time your efforts appropriately and ensure you replace the cache carefully and camouflage it as you found it or better.

Thank you.

This cache is a small container though consists of a only a logbook, stash-note and pencil.  you will find it placed amongst the buttress root structure.  As these caches are often in very public areas, please time your efforts appropriately and ensure you replace the cache carefully and camouflage it as you found it or better. Thank you.

"Rooted - Victoria" occupies a small plot of land in between the inner city bypass and the Victoria Park Golf Club - hence the name.

The conservation efforts of this tree are particularly interesting.  While it may not be as prominent as others in the series, the effort that has gone into preserving it make it a worthy addition.

This one isn't quite as exposed and the traffic pretty much flashes by but discretion will be required if there happens to be golfers nearby.

Please don't attempt to access this one from the inner city bypass !!! Access should be from the bikeway from either direction.
