Geocache Description:

We wanted to celebrate hiding our 100th cache with something really special. So we bought a screw geocoin! Everyone knows if you leave a geocoin in a cache it just seems to disappear. All you have to do is find this cache and then you can discover the screw geocoin: tracking number SGDANT

This cache is located in beautiful Pedernales Falls State Park. There is an entrance fee if you don't have a parks pass. Currently there is a state wide burn ban in effect and that includes all of the state parks. There is no open flame allowed. Go to the following site for park information including maps and park attractions. Link

To get to the cache you must hike or bike, round trip, just under 5 miles. It is on a very nice trail that is very wide and perfect for mountain bike enthusiasts and hikers. Pets are welcome. You stay on the trail until about 50 feet from the cache. There are 3 other caches you can find on your way: (click on name for link) Pedernales Popcorn , The Valley of Mescal Creek and Trickling Stream

Start your journey from the Wolf Mountain trail parking area (see additional waypoint)and follow the path. You will pass Bee Creek, Mescal Creek and Tobacco Creek along the way. During wetter times of the year you may need to wade through the crossings.

When you finally reach the cache site it will not be hard to locate the ammo can. It is very large. Please try to re-cover it thoroughly. This will take a few minutes but will help insure that this cache stays around for a while.

Thanks for helping us celebrate! We have enjoyed hiding every single one of our 100 caches and we hope to be able to hide more.

A permit for this cache has been obtained from Pedernales Falls State Park.
