Potter Creek Top Knot Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Isonzo Karst: Figured it's been a while since anyone tried this, and the last log is DNF, making it even less likely that anyone would. Did this as hike today, a nice hike, but maybe not as nice as a hike as it is as a paddle.
Cache was hanging right where I left, doing fine.
Took a dip in the spring. Grateful that I could just sit there and dry out without being eaten alive.
Sad to archive the old ones, but they take maintaining, and get fewer and fewer finds, and for no reason that I can quite fathom, more and more DNFs.

Geocache Description:

A splendid paddle on one of Florida's beautiful spring fed rivers, the Chassahowitzka . About 2.2 miles one way. Canoe or kayak best, barely enough depth for a motor. You are seeking a small in SWFLWMD's Chassahowitzka River and Coastal Swamps tract.

The rest of this paragraph is description of the hide. Stop reading if you're wanting a tough hunt. You should readily see the large bay tree with BOSTON 2001 carved on the trunk. Hide is north ~30 feet along a palm.

Put in at the end of Miss Maggie May road, county park, $5 for a car to park.

DEET before you leave the large spring boil about .1 from the hide. Believe me.

I'd go on and on about how wonderful it is - the big river, the big springs, the pristine forest, the enchanting side spring runs, the birds, the fish, the sky. But I figure you're just going to have to go see for yourself.
