Geocache Description:

This cache is a short walk around historic Knowle, before heading off to find the main cache.

Park near the main co-ordinates where there is space for a number of cars, but probably not on a Sunday morning. Alternative parking is available nearby.

At the main co-ordinates, check what day the sign says the church was consecrated on, ab February cdef.

Look out for the timbered Guild House next door to the church, given to the Church in 1912 by the local landowner Mr. Jackson of Springfield Hall.

Continue down the High Street until you reach the restored Chester House, a fine example of an Elizabethan town house, part of which dates to 1400. Chester House is now in use as Knowle Library.

Go down the passageway just before Chester House. Behind Chester House is a restored Knot garden. In 2002, a Britain in Bloom Award for Recognition was received by the gardener. The gardener had g characters in his first name, and h characters in his surname.

As you go along the passageway, you go under jk wooden arches before you reach the road at the rear (watch the traffic with little ones). There is even a raised viewing gallery for the Knot garden (if open).

You now have all the information necessary for the final cache.

First, however, go to N52 23.373 W001 44.009 and follow the footpath behind the church grounds until you come to Knowle Childrens Field, owned by the National Trust.

Now follow your GPSr to the find the cache, a 1L tupperware type container, which is at:

N52 23.(c+g)(a+j)(f+h) W001 43.(b+f)(d+e)(k-c)

I hope you enjoy your wander around Knowle
