Geocache Description:

The BzP+RO series celebrates double digits with this "read the plaque/plug in the numbers/score the cache" multi! It's a painted (mini-) mint tin, hidden in one of Berkeley's cache-less parks.

This is the 10th in a continuing series of hides that I place in Berkeley parks that don't have caches (and are eligible for caches). I wanted to do some more hides; Berkeley has many parks without caches... seemed like a good match. I am seeing a lot of Berkeley's smaller parks, and noticing things that I might not have seen otherwise; perhaps you hunters will appreciate this, too.

Halcyon Commons is an adorable -- cutest in South Berkeley, I think -- little bit of public space, repurposed from what was formerly a parking lot by a team of neighbors. The names of the leaders of that group are on a small plaque, and the reason this is a multi was that I felt that they were worthy of notice. After you are done with the cache, feel free to peruse the community bulletin board, enjoy the tire swing, or rest on the very solid wood bench (recycled from a railroad bridge).

The coordinates will take you to the aforementioned plaque, under the shade arbor. The final location is at N 37° 51.UVW' W 122° 15.XYZ', where:
U = Number of words on the line containing the word, "Lamb"
V = Number of letters in Mr. W______'s first name
W = Number of individual neighbors that are named in thanks
X = Number of letters in the quote writer's last name
Y = Number of lines in the famous quote (not counting attribution)
Z = Number of letters in the last capitalized word on the plaque

The cache itself is a mint tin, painted to hopefully slightly blend in with its surroundings. There is a hider-made polymer clay magnet for the FTF.

The difficulty level of this hide represents some physical limitations on the actual placement. I hope you can get it in one trip... it's possible that you won't.

Berkeley parks are open from 6am to 10pm. Please represent responsible Geocaching, and respect the rules of the park.

You may find parking for some of this series to be somewhat challenging. I encourage you to find out how bikeable/walkable/transit-able (most of) Berkeley's parks can be. (The ones that are hardest to transit/walk to have the easiest parking; funny how that works out. %-} )

FTF: LadyEsquire & DoctorRAM! Congratulations!
