Geocache Description:

I have recently archived Keep Diamond Hill Sparkling 1, due to them beginning to clear the area where it had been hidden. I married the contents, including the original log book, into this cache, Keep Diamond Hill Sparkling 2.

My return trip here for some upkeep recently has revealed that the park has once again been trashed. I just don't understand why people throw their bottles on the ground :(

I had original hidden these two caches back in '06. I had taken a walk there and was pretty disgusted with how trashed it was. I had just started caching myself and decided to hide a couple of caches with the purpose of getting this place cleaned up. I was in the habit of Caching In and Trashing Out and hoped others were as well. After hiding the caches I wrote in to the Valley Breeze and Neighbors. I wrote to tell them how trashed Diamond Hill was, I also wrote about Geocaching and Letterboxing and invited people to check it,maybe discover a great new hobby. I told them about Caching In and Trashing Out and encouraged them to bring some trash bags with them. A few months later, a reporter who had seen the article, asked to do a story about it. I meet him at the park and showed him how to geocache and helped him find one of the caches. That story ended up on the front page of Neighbors. The best part however was that people were logging that they had picked up quite a bit of trash and soon Diamond Hill was Sparkling!

I'm hoping that with some Caching In Trashing Out we can get this place Sparkling again.

Happy Hunting! and Thank You-
Naturemama :)
