One of geocaches that is dedicated to the discovery of Glasgow
Treasures. And speaking of treasures, this geocache is one of the
best treasures of Barren County. No Stealth is needed for this one.
I hope that you enjoy. The South Central Kentucky Cultural Center
is a non-profit organization dedicated to telling the story of the
people, places, and events that make up the geographic area known
as the "Barrens". Within the museum building, is 30,000 square feet
filled with history about Barren and the surrounding counties.
Entering the museum is the only way to find the cache. Once inside,
visitors/cachers can explore the history of Barren and the
surrounding counties, all the way back to 12,000 B.C. to the
present day. They have done an excellant job organizing the
displays. Each display makes one feel that they are experiencing
the time period as if they are standing there as it is happening.
Just a great place to explore. Please, while you are here, allow
the some extra time to visit the exhibits; you'll be glad that you
did. The location of this cache, the museum, is a bigger "Treasure
Chest" than the actual cache itself. The hunt for this cache will
to bring you to the lobby of the museum. As you walk into the
museum at the front entrance, look to the right at eye level. One
should be able to see the cache container, but if not, you are
allowed to ask for help. The cache is a gallon size container
covered with camo'd tape with a label posted on the outside
explaining about Geocaching. The cache has two logs to sign. First,
sign the log that is in the cache itself and then sign the guest
register for the museum. There is no fee for going through the
museum, however, they do except donations. Even their website is
great just check it for more information.
