The Eagle Has Landed Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

CacheNaFlash: Cache is probably still here, but for now there is no possible access. This cache is situated in the middle of the Tornado path that hit Etna and Denning earlier this year. Almost every tree in this old park was destroyed or downed, hence no access. Trust me, it's not worth breaking a leg to find this one. The only good news that I can report about this cache is the tree the eagle's nest was in seems to be intact...which in itself is kinda strange.
Thanks to all who have hunted this one.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to West Creek Park, another defunct Corp of Engineers recreational park that was closed at least 25 or more years ago.

Betcha didn't know this was here. We used to come here and park at the gate and go in the park and hunt spooks. This place is kinda eery at night. This park was one of the first places we thought of to hide a cache so long ago, and NOW is the right time. From the locked gate at WAYPOINT 35°24.933 93°47.364 you can walk, run or do as I did and bike the entire way to the cache. The paved road into the park has seen better days but is at a very suitable grade. FLAT is what I would call it. You will have a mile long trip to the cache. The distance required to get here earns this cache some QUALITY SWAG. So remember to TRADE UP, TRADE EVEN, OR DON'T TRADE! However, I may have left some cash in the cache, so if you're FTF, snatch and grab baby! Now for the cache's namesake. While hunting for the perfect spot, I paused for a couple of reasons and then heard the sky crashing down on me. Going on "pure instinct", I looked straight up and saw that the sky was indeed falling! I duck for cover and when all was clear I look up again and saw one our NATIONAL SYMBOLS of FREEDOM circling overhead. Seems I was underneath a BALD EAGLE'S nest and didn't know it. This majestic beauty obviously wanted me to leave and I was proud to do so. This one is in dedication to my new friend. PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB HER, as you will be far enough but close enough to see her nest and maybe she will present herself for your delight. GOD BLESS THE USA! P.S. BRING A CAMERA! UPDATE 2/14/06. Cache had to be moved to a new spot away from momma EAGLE.
