Geocache Description:

Covering over 130 hectares, Hockley Woods are the largest remaining area of the wild wood which covered Essex after the Ice Age 10,000 years ago. These woods have more ancient woodland plants than any other wood in the country

This is located in the village of Hockley in Essex and if you have time wander around the woods as it is in a lovely setting. Afterwards you can earn a refreshment in the local pub, The Bull, that is next door to the entrance of the woods. It serves good food. The woods also has a play area.

There is ample free parking and toilets in the woods car park at: N 51° 36.004 E 000° 38.795.
