Grassy area, fairly level but good shoes never hurt! Take sidewalk down side of Abbey/Mausoleum building to pine trees beside building.
Abbeys are known to be places of peace...Spiritual in nature, and, places where church services are held... Edgewood Abbey Chapel & Mausoleum sits high on a hill, looking down on Wheelersburg, Ohio and the hills of Kentucky off in the distance...Established in 1925, you will find this hide at Memorial Burial Park... Those looking for this cache should drive up the hill towards the cross and go right... Look for "Chapel Drive"... Notice a special section called "Babyland" on the left as you climb the hill... Tragic stories of the deaths of infants and children from the area are found on Head Markers there... The Edgewood Abbey and Mausoleum contains a Small Chapel... Short Memorial Services are held inside Edgewood Abbey prior to holding a Committal Service for loved ones at the graveside itself... Burial Crypts are also located on the outer walls of the structure... Cascading white marble steps from the rear of the Abbey leads to additional Crematory Burials at the foot of the hill in small crypts... A drinking water fountain and seating area is adjacent to these smaller crypts down below the building... You will find this one hanging near the Abbey ...The Abbey and Hill Top area gives you a serene feeling and the view is incredible... Cache is a camo medium sized pill bottle with a Log Book. Bring a pen. Our own family's graves are located not far from this hide... Yes, we'll be perched above Wheelersburg for Eternity ourselves some day! This area is open from dawn until dusk daily.
