Greetings,

It has been a while since I first looked at this cache. I can't find any recent responses about maintaining this cache so for the time being it will be archived and removed from the active cache listings. We are no longer leaving caches stay disabled for extended periods of time.

Groundspeak and the geocaching community appreciate your contributions to geocaching and I hope to see this cache back in operation soon.

If you can get it back up and running in the next week or so contact me to get it re-listed. Otherwise plan to move it slightly and set up a new cache page.

[green]Most problems can be solved with good communication so reply back to the reviewer and we will do everything possible within the guidelines to get your cache published. It is best to give me as much information as possible instead of saying nothing at all. This will speed up the process and we can get your cache published. [/green]

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed outside the Dogwood Animal Shelter in a wooded area, about 100 feet from the closest parking space. **NOTE: This is a "NO-KILL" Shelter!! Please come in and visit with the dogs and cats - you don't have to feel bad, they are all waiting for homes and will not be "put down", no matter how long it takes to find them their home!

Great News! The third dog sponsored by this cache, Mara, has been adopted! But I've made a new friend in a great black lab mix, Hailey. She is about 2 years old, 45-50 lbs, black with a white star on her chest. She was brought to the shelter when she was just a puppy, and has never had a single taker!! Fact I learned from the ASPCA: Black dogs are the most over-looked at any shelter. Black dogs of the world, unite! Hailey is a little shy at first, but definitely a lady. She walks very gently on her leash, thumping her tail vigorously. She loves to go for a walk. She is very trusting. She comes with me to do cache maintenance, so maybe if you can't find the cache, you should just come and get Hailey to help you - she KNOWS where it is! This could be the cache hound you are missing! Come ask to take Hailey out for a walk!

The hours are 10-5 M-F, 10-4 Sat, closed Sunday. Come in and get information about the low cost spay/neuter clinic, obedience classes, and all the other wonderful programs put on by Dogwood Animal Shelter! Visit online at (visit link)

Cache container is a medium rubber made container. Original contents are all pet-related and include dog stickers, a tennis ball, a new dog collar, and a stuffed dog with suction cups to stick up in your car. Please try to keep the pet theme going with trade items as much as possible.
In the alternative to trading, bring an item from the shelter's wish list, like collars, leashes, dog/cat treats, blankets, or laundry supplies.

Also, please post a picture of your furry family members that found their forever homes with you through the help of a shelter or rescue group!
