Tallaganda National Park/State Forest: An old water wheel and campsite within the Lowden Forest Park.
This campsite is where a group of logging contractors established their camp in 1937. The water wheel was built in 1952 by William Hopkins and Spencer Hush to be used to generate electricity for the camp. The wheel and weir have been restored and still operate today. Tallaganda State Forest is still partially used as a pine logging plantation, so take care of trucks in the area. Area was burnt out in Dec 2019. A new cache has been placed.
