The cache is located near a viewsite that gives a panoramic view of the Knysna forests to the south, and mountains to the north.
The cache is located just off the R339. It can be approached either from the R62 and turning off at Avontuur and travelling through the very scenic and rugged Prince Alfred's Pass, or from the N2 and turning off on the eastern side of Knysna. The part of the route between the cache location and Knysna passes through the very scenic Knysna indigenous forests.
At S33 54.903 E23 08.703 turn off onto a fairly rough track (it can be negotiated in a sedan) that leads to the viewsite on top of Spitskop. The viewsite is grassed and well-kept - suitable for a picnic.
