First across the Pacific in 1928, Charles Edward Kingsford Smith rivalled Lindbergh for great accomplishments in the Golden Age of Aviation.
The fate of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith remains one of aviation's great unsolved mysteries. Flying from England to Australia, he and his copilot departed Allahabad, India for a leg to Singapore, flying in Lockheed Altair Lady Southern Cross. The aircraft did not arrive at its destination. Eighteen months later, wreckage from the aircraft was located off the south coast of Burma. The remains of the crew have never been located.
A few months before this tragic accident occurred the knighted Sir Charles Kingsford Smith offered the "Southern Cross" to the people of Australia. In 1945 the plane took the air a few times for shooting a movie of the life of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith.
The Fokker F.VIIb-3m "Southern Cross" is still to be seen in the Sir Charles Kingsford Smith Memorial the Brisbane.
It is in this area that you will find what you seek. A small cache, camouflaged of course is located very near the coords given. Tree cover prevented a accurate reading to be taken at the exact site. See the hints if you need further guidance.
