Public land, well protected from vehicular access.
There is a busy road nearby and parking can be exhilarating. I suggest you use the parking co-ordinate below. The best option is to be driving west, indicating early and keeping a close eye on following traffic. Driving east, there’s a nice turn-in across the median strip, but you are almost blind to oncoming traffic (not recommended).
Walk through the anti-bicycle gate and it’s about 200m to a perfectly safe pedestrian crossing point (to the east) of this parking location. The fences are designed to keep wildlife, and geocachers, from being run over. Apart from a boulder or two at the start, the terrain is much easier if you walk close to the fence.
When you finish at the cache site and before crossing back, there’s a cool feature the council built 420m along the fence to the west. It’s worth a look but watch your footing in there as you re-cross the road. Your vehicle is only 220m to the east now. There’s only a little bit of long grass, stay close to the fence to avoid wet feet.
Oh yeah, watch for people taking “high speed” pictures at S27°36.992 E153°05.238 and S27°36.474 E153° 04.767.
