Bonfire and Stargazing - Join us the night before the ASP
Geobach and Caching Event for a bonfire and we can glaze at the
stars. This event will be at LeBlanc T's (now known as Mon@rch)
home on the grounds of Allegany State Park. Please bring your lawn
chairs and some good geocaching stories. Parking should be done at
the Admin building.
Saturday May 20th (All Day)
Allegany State Park Geobash and Caching Event – Saturday -
7 AM Coffee will be on at Beehunter Pavilion 8 AM Release of
Coordinates for Event Caches 8-12 Event caching and games 10-12
Children's games 12-1 Potluck lunch, bring dish to pass and table
setting 1 -1:30 Raffle Drawings 1:30 Nature/History Walk 1:30
Geocaching for beginners Veteran cachers will appreciate the
unscheduled evening and hundreds of local caches inside and outside
the park borders.
Sunday May 21st (7:30-9:30)
Short Stacks and Tall Tales - Sunday morning after the
Allegany State Park Geobash and Caching Event a pancake and sausage
breakfast will be sponsored by the Allegany County Cachers between
cabins 1 and 1A on the Anderson Loop. It will be a time of eating,
exchanging tales, gathering hints, planning caching partners for
the day and saying "till we met again".
UPDATE:The event
was the BEST Geobash ever!
PARK INFO:
Cachers may choose to camp overnight, the weekend or commute in for
one or more events. People should make reservations early for
campsites/cabins. It is also Victoria Day (Canadian Holiday) and
the park is very busy. There is a two day minimum on cabins.
Campsites are a 2-night minimum if you reserve. You can camp at the
campground for one night if you walk in and take you chances. There
is a fee to enter the park. Reservations can be made at
800-397-3234 at Reserve America.com . Those not interested in camping,
the Holiday Inn can be reached at 716-945-7600 and you can
also try the Dudley at 716-945-2002.
This event will be located on the Red House side of
Allegany State Park. The Quaker Area is about a 20-30 minutes
drive. For directions, I suggest taking I-86 to exit 19 into the
Red House Area of Allegany State Park. Follow this road and use
your GPS!
This event will include its
own trackable Event Geo-Coin, an Event T-Shirt and
First Chance to get KacheKat
and Kickin' Personal Geocoin (CASH ONLY)
The ASP GeoBash
Event Coin can not be preordered! Both coins will go on sale at 8am
Saturday Morning. Please contact KacheKat n Kickin for more info
regarding their personal coin.
Ok all special order sizes (like: Kids, Smalls,
XXL, ect..) have been ordered already, for those who want T-shirts,
we have 40+ shirts that will be avalible to those that stop by
first Saturday Morning. Sizes will be M, L, and XL.
For our fellow cachers in the northern end of WNY -
The Town of Boston and NYGO are sponsoring a Geo Cachers breakfast
also on Saturday. Allegany State Park is just a short ride down
Route 219.
