A tribute cache placement for The_Simpsons.
As you may or may not know, The_Simpsons are my parents. We both
started caching on Labor Day weekend, 2005. Yes, that was only 5
months ago and they have hit the 1K mark! What an
accomplishment!
I have really enjoyed getting out and geocaching with them, it has
been GR8 fun!!
They have managed to grab 37 First To Find caches, handled over 120
travel bugs, they own 3 TB's and a geocoin, and they have placed 9
caches of their own! (Stats as of 02-16-06)
Approx. 4 weeks ago, my mother was geocaching in the Eagle Mountain
area and separated her Achilles tendon from her foot. OUCH!!
After undergoing surgery, she is now hopping around on crutches.
She will need the crutches for 6 weeks and then will be on “light
duty walking”, which will NOT include hiking to geocaches. This has
slowed the caching process for them, but they are still out doing
it! My mother loved to be the one out grabbing and logging the find
but now she is confined to the car to navigate and document the
finds. This is a big bummer for her and everyone in the family can
feel her pain. Get well soon!
They enjoy the "large" or “Regular” caches because they love to
trade. They carry a backpack full of trade items where ever they
go. I believe that the .50 Cal Ammo can is their favorite cache of
all time.
The_Simpsons love Jeeping, Camping, and geocaching.
This cache is a .50 Cal Ammo can the will start out filled with
trade items that are related to the 3 hobbies mentioned above. This
is NOT a theme cache, but keep the trades fair please.
Travel bugs, Geocoins, and signature items are all welcome
here.
This cache had to be moved from it's previous home. The log in
cache is the old log book and will already have names on it.
Cachers who logged the cache at the old location may log this one
as a new cache. Just sign the log again.
This cache will now require just over a .50 mile walk down the
Madison River Trail, a steep but short climb and a small amount of
bushwacking.
This cache can NOT be accessed from the Bang. Hwy. Do not stop on
the Highway!
Muggles in this area will not be a problem. Try not be be seen
leaving the trail. Please respect the hide and do your part to
preserve it.
Replace the container and camo as you found them, or hide it better
than it was hidden when you got there.
If this cache should need any maintenance, or if there is a problem
with the coords please let me know ASAP. Coords were averaged with
2 Garmin units. The cache is pretty close to my home and will be
watched closely.
