With this cache you are looking for an ammo can, just off of an old
asphalt road. It is hidden well by some rocks, and there are some
trees towering overhead so it may take a moment or two for your
GPS'r to zero in on the correct coordinates.
The cache is filled with all sorts of little fishing goodies,
plus a little bit of everything for people who aren't so interested
in fishing. It is close to the Red Fox Community Park which has
swing sets, slides, basketball courts, and a walking track. There
is also another section closer to where the cache is that has
picnic tables, and other pull offs to just park at.
Look for the wooden Red Fox Community Park sign beside of
Highway 15, and pull off onto the old road there, you will also
notice a small grassy area and the picnic tables dotted around.
Here, you can either park and have a lunch and walk to the cache
(about a quarter mile from the tables), or you can drive down the
old road right to where the cache site is.
Once you find the cache you can continue on down to the lakes
edge and do some fishing, best done during the warmer spring,
summer, and fall months. In the winter they drop the lake quite a
bit to prepare for the spring floods, so their can be a fair amount
of mud to have to walk through during the winter time, plus the
fishing isn't that good this time of year in the lake anyway. Be
sure to stay on the paved road with your vehicles as well, wouldn't
want any one getting stuck in the muck either, which is only a
problem right at the lakes edge at the end of the road. The area
around the geocache is still well paved.
Parents be careful of children please. The cache has some
fishing related items with hooks on them, while all are still in
the original packages and not exposed I still wouldn't want to take
the chance on them sticking their little fingers.
Please place cache back where you found it when done.
