Geocache Description:

“INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST”

The Indiana Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Hoosier Pioneers. In just two years, the quest has grown to over four hundred and fifty caches hidden in forty Indiana counties, and Ohio and Michigan, and the hiders have grown to over twenty-five cacher teams, most of which are comprised of Dogs and their Humans. Over 1,000 cacher teams have logged over 12,000 finds. One cache machine found 102 ISQ caches in a single day (daylight hours only).

"Dreamweaver"

Chalk up another Indiana county for the ISQ series. Fayette County's first ISQ is in the Bentonville Cemetery in Posey Township. This cemetery is the final resting spot of Revolutionary War soldier, Nicolas Kemmer, plus many other war veterans including Peter Shipley, William Webb, Alexander Frey, Peter B. Vannati and two unknown soldiers.

For a rural farmyard cemetery there is a surprisingly outstanding collection of statuary to ponder. From classic designs to realistic figures, you can spend as much time as you like selecting your favorite monument. The muggle factor is low here and if you park in the parking lot to the south of the church you will hardly be noticed by passing cars.

Geocache Handicaching Ratings

HandiCaching.com rating: H12213

The cache is a small container. There is a little room for tiny trinkets, but bring your own pen to sign the log. It is hidden away from graves. Please leave the cache exactly as you found it.

NOTE: There is also a Letterbox in the immediate vicinity of this cache. It will have a stamp in it and a journal where other people put their personal stamp. If you find it, you can go ahead and sign your geocaching name in it. If you don't know about Letterboxing click HERE.

As always, no ISQ searching after dusk, and cache in, trash out.
