Geocache Description:


The Chena Flood Project came about as a direct result of 1967 flood which filled Fairbanks with water as the Chena River overflowed its banks.

The Chena Flood Project now serves its primary function to divert high waters around Fairbanks as well as a place for all types of seasonal recreation.

You can learn more about the history of this project here.

There is a fee to enter the recreation area between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
