Near Garden City, TX west picnic area. Watch for muggles due to fairly heavy traffic on Texas 158.
This (to my knowledge) is the first cache to be located in Glasscock County Texas. Glasscock County was established in 1893, with the first settlement of "New California" later named "Garden City". The communities of New California, Garden City and Dixie vied for the county seat. The three determined that New California was the best location so all the residences, post office and businesses of the other communities were moved to New California and the name was changed to the name of the Post Office, Garden City. Though it is a small community, it is a beautiful little town full of pride in the community, the school, the churches and the people. There are picnic areas on both sides of Garden City, each 1 mile from the city limits.
The Garden City West cache is a "Snap top" Rubbermaid container. It contains various kinds of erasers, some sea shells, accent gems, nail clipper, clip, key ring and puzzle toy. It is located on public property near the western picnic area.
