Geocache Description:

Queen's Bath

DANGER! CAUTION! THIS CACHE REQUIRES CAUTION IN HIGH SURF. Stay along the tree line and DO NOT go in the water, regardless of how calm it may look. Trust me. Three of us jumped in several years ago. After a very brief calm interval the waves broke over the edge and washed us into the rocks. We were lucky to get out. This spot is another good tip from the "Ultimate Kauai Guidebook", the best Kauai tour book. Park off Kapiolani Road near Punahele Road (N22 13.654, W159 29.165) and follow the trail to the right to the bottom of the hill and then walk west over the rocks for 260 yards. Queen’s Bath is a large pool carved into the lava rock with a “U” shaped connection to the ocean. We have been here at least 10 times and never seen conditions right for entering the pool. The muddy trail down the hill and the walk across the rocks makes this a good place for tabis.

Small note on cache maintenance: Hanapaa has graciously offered to assist with any needed cache maintenance between our visits to the island. Thanks!
