Urban Oasis: Animals, Archetypes and Architecture Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Lovejoy: This cache does not appear to be sustainable during the summertime tourist crowds, especially at the base of such a large building during sensitive times. If I could make this cache only available to seasoned cachers, I would. [:D]

It was nice having a downtown cache that was not a micro, and I heard many wonderful comments from folks who visited. This is a great spot at the base of the Washington Mutual building, and I encourage you to visit. Thanks to all who found this Urban Oasis...

Geocache Description:

This is one of the caches in my 'Art and Architecture in Downtown Seattle' series. It is easily accessible via the King County bus system.

Since this cache is downtown, you may have trouble with your GPSr. Because of this, I have provided more obvious clues so that your rough GPSr reading will get you there.

This time, no bison capsules were involved, although there is a bison on the premises. He's mad that I used a lock 'n lock instead.

There is also a walrus, but he's much smaller than those adorning his other cache in this series.

If you take the time to open your eyes and look around, you will also find rams, bears, an arrow, totem poles, stainless steel columns (read the label on the main column to understand the cache title), an ornate fountain (currently not running) and a boatload of art galleries within one block.

Look up and you will see one of the favorite buildings in the area, which some call the 'Spark Plug' because of the unusual formations at the top. The building's curves, angles, and manner of reflecting light make this tower stand out in all weather conditions.

Note that I put this in a spot where you can casually stand, log, and trade items. Please be careful and discreet since there are so many people in this area. The bus stop across the street is a particularly interesting challenge.
