Billy the geocache has fallen on hard times. After being imprisoned for decades, Billy has decided to make a break for it. He is armed and dangerous and even has a getaway car with him (The General Lee TB). Make sure that Billy does not escape. Last reports were that Billy was still in lockdown somewhere inside the jail. Make sure that Billy always has a get-away vehicle.
Clairmont was found in 1888 and in 1892 it became the county seat, and by 1900 boasted 65 people, a post office, and a two-story courthouse. The accompanying jail was built from locally quarried stone. Through the 1930s and 1940s the population hovered around 200, but after WW II ended, the people left, and in 1954 the county seat was transferred to Jayton. In 1990, 15 people remained.
The coordinates above are for the parking next to the old jail house. This would be an excellent night cache given that there are reports that the jail is haunted. Have fun!!!!
