HPD Blanchard Landing II Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

McCombRef: After the cache has been attacked by some sort of rodent three times, I decided to shut it down. I may try another location this winter after a good freeze and the vegetation dies off.

I found teeth marks on the container as well as items inside. I seen no evidence of food being in the cache. I did see a well chewed bouncy ball. I searched area for travel bugs but didn't find any.

I will be placing another cache nearby soon and I will transfer all of thr trade items to the new cache.

This is the first cache that I have lost. Hopefully this streak will end at one.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Blanchard Landing Park.

This is small park along the Blanchard River and is one of the many in the Hancock Park District.

Much of the original park is closed to visitors so placing the cache made it a little challenging to find a place to keep it from being muggled and flooded out. A few years ago this park was almost closed because of the goings ons there. Please abide by all park rules and regulations.

The container is 6" diameter by 3" tall plastic container.

The original contents are:

Log Book
Referee pencils
Referee wistle and lanyard (new)
Music CD
Golf ball
2 key rings
2 zipper decorations
My signature card
Map of Hancock County and Findlay
Late Great Dale Earnhardt Travel Bug

The area may be soggy and muddy after rain or wet snow. You may want to wear boots.
