This cache is one of a series that will take you to parts of OLD Old Hwy. 40. This highway was used to travel east and west before Interstate 70 was built and opened about 1959-60 in this area. This is an easy find.
The cache is a 35 mm film container w/ log sheet. Please bring your own "writer". AND PLEASE REPLACE CONTAINER WHERE YOU FOUND IT AND COVER IT SO IT WILL NOT BECOME "MUGGLE BAIT". This is an easy find alongside a fairly long stretch of the old abandoned highway, so there is lots of easy parking on the side of the road. DO NOT PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY---you can enter the old road from either end and you will be away from traffic. This old road runs along the south side of one of the University of Missouri's ag farms. There is public fishing permitted in the small lake near the cache, so bring a line and pole if you want to wet a line, and you will need to go back east a short ways to get to the lake. The cache is close to, but not on private property, so DO NOT CROSS THE FENCE. Have fun, and imagine what it would be like if all that I-70 traffic had to travel this little ol', narrow ol' road!!!!
